Abstract
Článek podrobně představuje, a také důkladně a kriticky hodnotí stěžejní kolektivní monografii o regionalismu a formování regionálních identit v Evropě dlouhého dvacátého století, přičemž práci zasazuje do širšího rámce studia utváření regionů, hodnotí její důležitost, poukazuje v návaznosti na hodnocenou publikaci na mezery a další možnosti na poli výzkumu moderního regionalismu v neposlední řadě zvažuje alternativní možnosti vymezení regionalismu.
 
The article introduces in detail, and subtantially and criticaly evaluates the pivotal collective volume on regionalism and formation of regional identities in Europe of the long twentieth century. It sets the volume in a larger framework of research on region building, assess its importance, points out lacuane and further avenues in the research field on modern regionalism, and last but not least considers alternative ways of defining regionalism.
