Jakob Eduard Wittak a jeho doba v univerzitní kanceláři

Abstract

Po několik desetiletí v první polovině 19. století a zejména v době dalekosáhlé správní změny v polovině 19. století, kdy vzrostla potřeba a význam univerzitní kanceláře, byl syndikem Dr. Jakob Eduard Wittak (1785-1859). V kanceláři univerzity působil od druhého desetiletí 19. století, předtím vystudoval práva na pražské univerzitě. V letech 1835-1843 působil jako aktuár, poté byl povýšen na syndika. Tato studie analyzuje provoz a vytvořené písemné materiály univerzitní kanceláře v době, kdy zde Wittak působil jako zaměstnanec i jako její vedoucí. Během jeho funkčního období úřední dokumenty univerzitní kanceláře byly uchovávány pečlivěji než kdykoli jindy v 19. století. For several decades in the first half of the 19th century, and especially around the time of the far-reaching administrativechanges in mid-19th century when the need for and importance of the university office had grown, the officeof a syndic was held by Dr Jakob Eduard Wittak (1785-1859). He worked in the university office from the seconddecade of the 19th century, having previously studied law at the Prague university. In 1835-1843, he worked asan actuary, then he was promoted to a syndic. This study analyses the operation and written materials producedby the university office at a time when Wittak worked there both as an employee and as its head. During his term,official documents of the university office were kept more meticulously than at any other time in the 19th century.Alongside this, this contribution presents, using Wittak as an example, a portrait of career of a university officialin the first half of the 19th century.
