Abstract
A rebound of an elastic material immersed in a liquid is not a fully described phenomenon. Analytical results show that contact between the elastic material and a rigid wall is impossible. We aim to confirm this result through direct numerical simulation and better understand the physical process. We use finite-element and arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian methods for discretization and formulation of the equations, respectively.
