Abstrakt
The cyclic-GMP-AMP synthase - stimulator of interferon genes (cGAS-STING) pathway recognizes cytosolic double-stranded DNA (dsDNA), a sign of viral infection or cell damage.Activation of the pathway stimulates immune cells to produce a broad portfolio of cytokines with antiviral properties, including type I and III interferons. Therefore, activators of the cGASSTING pathway, such as STING agonists are of therapeutic interest in chronic hepatitis B therapy.
